IBM Champion Nominations are Open!

As tweeted earlier, https://twitter.com/IBMChampions/status/506822528997027840, nominations are now open.  Here’s a link to the nomination form, ow.ly/AZlvE .  Remember that current Champions need to be nominated every year (if you feel they are deserving, of course).  And don’t worry, you don’t have to fill out every field on the form.  If you want to nominate someone, nominate them, explain why, click Submit.

The IBM Champion program recognizes innovative thought leaders in the technical community — and rewards these contributors by amplifying their voice and increasing their sphere of influence. An IBM Champion is an IT professional, business leader, developer, or educator who influences and mentors others to help them make best use of IBM software, solutions, and services.

IBM Champions are not employees of IBM.

IBM Champion!

So many of the IBM Champions have received their “swag” kits.  As a repeat offender, errr, Champion, I felt I had a bit of experience on my side when selecting my swag.  Last year’s jacket only came in Men’s sizes.  Figuring I’d rather have a jacket too big, than a jacket too small, I ordered an XL, which was as you can imagine EXTRA LARGE.  So this year, we had women’s sizes to choose from.  I selected TWO jackets in TWO sizes, figuring I would at least end up with one jacket that fit.  I ordered an XL in Black, and an L in Blue.  However, I didn’t realize the two colors are actually two different manufacturers.  Therefore the sizing difference seems to be much more than one would expect from just a single size difference.  No matter, I am quite happy with both!  And to be an IBM Champion!

As you’ve probably already heard (if you’re in the “Lotus” community, that is.  If you read my blog for running stuff, then you have no clue what I’m talking about) that the 2014 IBM Champions for ICS have been announced.

Last year I was thrilled to be selected as an IBM Champion and I am just as thrilled this year to be selected again.  I am in great company this year (as last year), with 86 other Champions.

I hope I can continue to contribute to the community in 2014 and thank you if you nominated me!

Article: Nominate an IBM Champion

It’s that time of year again, where you can help recognize the efforts of people who are champions for IBM’s Collaboration Solutions.

It is once again time to nominate some IBM Champions. The current year of Champions include 73 Champions in the Collaborations Solutions area. I am proud to say I am included in that group.  According to Joyce Davis’ post about the current nominations, we are from 17 countries around the world.

Champion AND IBM Connect

It’s been quite a week or two.

First I had the honor of being selected to speak at IBM Connect.  This will be my sixth “Lotusphere” that I will be an attendee and my fourth as a speaker.  David Leedy (of Notes in 9 fame, among other things) and I will be presenting  “XPages: No Experience Necessary”, a show and tell session.  Just like it sounds, this will be a from the ground up session, where we show you step by step how to create an XPages application.  We’ll also send you on your way with a sample application.

Then IBM Champions were announced and I am proud to say, I am now one of them!  I keep looking at the list to see if my name is still there!  There are only 76 Champions worldwide and I am honored to be on the list.
